PWSD 9 rescinds lawn irrigation fee

The Public Water Supply District has decided to rescind irrigation fees for residents in district 9.

Public Water Supply District 9 decided in September, to start charging a minimum of $10 a month, every year for having a lawn irrigation system. Regardless if they use the irrigation system or not, customers were going to be charged.

Roger Ballew, Public Water Supply District 9’s manager, told ABC 17 News that the board decided to rescind the fee structure and discuss a new fee structure in January.

“One of the biggest reasons to rescind the fee’s was from the public’s response to the fees and because our mail provider didn’t mail all of the notices in a timely manner so it just wasn’t fair,” he said, “we just decided to take a step back and check back in January.”
