Man charged after chase in Callaway County

UPDATE: Callaway County prosecutors have charged Shane Vandelicht, 25, of Fulton, with resisting arrest, driving while revoked, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway, careless operation of a motor vehicle, and failure to yield to emergency vehicle lights.

A judge has issued a warrant in Callaway County for Vandelicht’s arrest.

ORIGINAL STORY: A Callaway County man could face charges after leading law enforcement on a chase Tuesday afternoon.

The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office said they tried to stop Shane Vandelicht, 25, of Fulton, around 3:23 p.m. near West Morningside Drive in Fulton.

According to deputies, Vandelicht refused to stop and traveled on several roads outside of Fulton before he reached State Route O.

Vandelicht led Callaway County deputies and Fulton police on Route O until they reached County Road 111 before he returned to Route O.

Deputies said Vandelicht then drove off the roadway and went through a field south of Route O near County Road 149.

Vandelicht reportedly ditched his vehicle in the field but was arrested by deputies following a short foot chase.

Vandelicht was taken to the Callaway County Jail, where he was booked on felony resisting arrest, felony driving while revoked and several other traffic violations.

At last check, formal charges have not been filed against Vandelicht.

Vandelicht’s bond is pending until its set by a judge.

According to Case Net, Vandelicht has previous felony convictions in mid-Missouri.
