Jefferson City fire leaves residents displaced, home damaged

Jefferson City fire officials say at least two people are out of their home this morning after a fire.

It happened just after 11 Sunday night in the 2400 block of Starling Drive.

Fire officials say crews saw smoke coming from the single story home when they arrived and were able to put out the flames within 15 minutes.

They say no one was home when the flames broke out, but say the people who lived there were unable to return to the home due smoke and fire damage.

No word yet on what started the fire or how much it will cost to repair the damage.
