Delta Upsilon International: “learning of some of these alleged incidents for the first time”
On Friday, the Executive Director for Delta Upsilon released a statement on the recent investigations into its Mizzou chapter.
In the statement, Executive Director Justin Kirk said, “The allegations detailed in university documents are deeply concerning, and Delta Upsilon will not condone or tolerate such alleged activities. The International Fraternity is learning of some of these alleged incidents for the first time, while others have already been adjudicated by the university and fraternity.”
This comes after ABC 17 News uncovered multiple investigations into the fraternity earlier this week. On Thursday evening, ABC 17’s Lucas Geisler reported that the fraternity is under at least two open investigations into the potential use of “date rape” drugs.
Below is the full statement from Kirk:
“Delta Upsilon’s Missouri Chapter remains under suspension as we investigate recent allegations concerning the chapter. The allegations detailed in university documents are deeply concerning, and Delta Upsilon will not condone or tolerate such alleged activities. The International Fraternity is learning of some of these alleged incidents for the first time, while others have already been adjudicated by the university and fraternity. Specific to recent media reports, the documents also show that some of the alleged incidents, including the distribution of predatory drugs, were not pursued further by the police or the university. There have not been reports of sexual assault against the chapter.
The International Fraternity continues to work closely with university officials to investigate the alleged incidents and determine whether our Missouri Chapter can positively contribute to a safe, enriching and inclusive campus environment.”
