Jefferson City police investigating shooting on Monroe Street

Jefferson City police confirmed they are investigating reports of gunfire Thursday morning in the 800 block of Monroe Street. The department got multiple calls reporting a shooting just before noon.

Officials believe several men started shooting at each other after a fight in a parking lot.

Detectives have already interviewed several witnesses and recovered shell casings in the area, but at this point, they have not found a victim. They are still tracking down leads and working to confirm information about the possible suspects.
