Police: No suspects after Central Columbia shooting

The Columbia Police Department says there are still no suspects after a shooting on Oak Street over the weekend.

Police say they found multiple shell casings in the 400 block of Oak Street just after one Sunday morning. There are no reported injuries, but one house was hit by bullets.

ABC 17 News reporter Alyssa Toomey spoke with residents in the area of the shooting. They say they all help to police the neighborhood and keep an eye out for each other.

One resident who lives in the same block of the shooting says her home was hit by a bullet two years ago. She says it’s only a matter of time before one of those stray bullets hits someone.

ABC 17 News will continue to follow this story and check in with police for updates.
