Missouri Task Force 1 helps people stranded by floodwaters

Missouri Task Force One was in Lumberton, North Carolina, Monday, helping people stranded by flood waters left by Hurricane Matthew.

The group was deployed last week to the southeast to help with recovery efforts.

The task force was in Savannah, Georgia, earlier in the day, before they were redirected to Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

The group’s Facebook page said they are based out of Fort Bragg, but will be doing active water rescue in an area where nearly 1,500 people were stranded or isolated by flood waters.

The team says they could be gone for as long as two weeks.
