Crash near Mizzou’s campus sends one person to hospital

Fire officials confirmed one person was taken to the hospital Sunday afternoon after a car crash near Stadium Boulevard and Mick Deaver Memorial Drive.

The crash happened around 3:30 p.m. The westbound Stadium Boulevard lanes were shut down while crews cleared the scene.

A division chief with the Columbia Fire Department told ABC 17 News two cars were involved in the crash. Firefighters had to use extrication tools on one of the cars.

The person’s injuries were non-life-threatening, the fire chief said.

The University of Missouri Police Department is investigating what caused the crash.
