TODAY: Skies will be mostly sunny today and we’ll warm quickly with a southeasterly breeze. Afternoon temperatures will reach the low 80s. Winds will be gusty at times in the afternoon from 20-25 mph.
TONIGHT: Clouds will be increasing this evening and it looks to stay dry through 11PM. Storms will increase overnight for areas west of US, and weaken. Columbia looks to get rain from 2AM-4AM. Much of this rain will occur while we’re sleeping with rainfall amounts near 0″ to 0.25″ west of US 63.
EXTENDED: Showers look to linger east of HWY 54 through 5AM. There will be a lot of dry time on Wednesday. Temperatures will warm into the low 80s Wednesday with a slight chance of evening storms which will increase overnight in parts of Mid-Missouri. Storms are likely Thursday morning and again in the evening and overnight as a cold front approaches. There is a marginal severe threat Wednesday and Thursday for the potential of damaging wind and large hail with storms that move through. The cold front will be slow to move through, keeping rain chances going through Friday afternoon with mostly cloudy skies and cooler temperatures. Highs will only reach the mid 60s Friday. As of now, 1″ to 3″ of rainfall looks possible for areas west of US 63 by Friday night with areas east closer to 0.50″ to 0.75″. Cooler, dry weather moves in for the weekend with daytime highs in the mid 60s Saturday to near 70 Sunday and nights in the lower 40s.
