Missouri River bridge in Jefferson City set to reopen in mid-November

The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced it will reopen the Missouri River bridge at Jefferson City by mid-November.

Officials said they will announce an exact opening date at a press conference on Wednesday at 1 p.m.

The project was originally scheduled to be completed by the end of August. Crews said paint removal revealed the bridge was in worse condition than expected.

The bridge has been closed since May 2 for repairs and painting.
