Mexico man charged with kidnapping and drug possession

A Mexico man was jailed following his arrest for kidnapping and drug possession.

According to the East Central Drug Task Force, 39 year-old Royal Lee Hampton was arrested after officers served a search warrant in the 1000 block of Eagle Drive, in Mexico. During the search, officers seized methamphetamine, Adderall, drug paraphernalia, forty firearms, and ammunition.

Hampton had been the subject of a domestic assault investigation since Sunday. He is being held in the Audrain County Jail.
