Warm start to the weekend, rain Sunday
The summer weather pattern continues for the start of the weekend but a cold front will bring cooler air and rain as it moves through Sunday.
Saturday will start off mostly sunny with some clouds building in the afternoon as temperatures climb into the upper 80s. Mizzou tailgaters will have warm weather with temperatures close to 82 at noon, climbing to 87 by 3 p.m. for the start of the game. There is a chance of a spot t-storm Saturday afternoon through early evening mainly west of HWY 63 but most areas will stay dry. High temperatures will reach the upper 80s Saturday with light southerly winds.
Showers and t-storms will increase from the west Saturday night but will be very spotty through Sunday morning. As the cold front moves through Sunday, storms will become more widely scattered, moving east through the evening and ending. Severe storms are not expected either Saturday night or Sunday. Rainfall amounts of a quarter to a half inch are most likely but local amounts up to three quarters of an inch are possible west of HWY 63.
Cooler weather moves in behind the front Sunday with high temperatures in the 70s west of HWY 63 and in the lower 80s east. As the rain ends Sunday evening, temperatures will fall into the mid 50s Sunday night.
