Monday, September 19 Daily Forecast

TODAY: An even warmer day expected to start the work week. As high pressure slides away to the east more warm air will move into Mid-Missouri as temperatures climb to the upper 80s where they will stay for the entirety of the week. Thankfully humidity will still be on the low side for the first part of the day. It will be slightly muggy by evening as dew points rise to the upper 60s.

TONIGHT: Most areas will stay dry but a very weak front will push through bringing a small t-storm chance to areas north of HWY 24. Areas south of I-70 will just see passing clouds overnight with mild temperatures in the upper 60s. It looks like any showers or t-storms that do develop look to be from 11PM-2AM Tuesday morning.

EXTENDED: Tuesday will stay warm and humid with dew points rising to the low 70s with temperatures in the upper 80s. The heat index Tuesday will feel more like 90-92 during peak heating hours. Thursday morning another warm front lifts, and looks to bring a slight storm chance to areas in northern Missouri, this looks like it could reach areas from HWY 24 and north with most areas staying dry. The weekend will bring a better chance at rain. Saturday looks to be hit and miss at this time, but a storm system looks to truck towards Mid-Missouri on Sunday bringing a better opportunity for widespread rain from Sunday morning through Monday morning of next week. Long range forecast models are hinting at cooler air arriving by the week of September 26-29. For additional weather updates follow @ABC17Stormtrack on Twitter.
