Contract approved for Jefferson City sinkhole project

The Jefferson City Council approved a contract to make repairs to a year-old sinkhole in Jefferson City Tuesday night.

ABC 17 News broke down the proposal last month. The contract is with Don Schnieders Excavating Company, Inc. and is estimated to cost nearly $244,000.

The sinkhole opened up at Forest Hill Avenue and Forest Drive after a storm water pipe collapsed last August. It has shut down a portion of the intersection and grown significantly over the past year.
