Police arrest man in connection to north Columbia shooting

Columbia police have arrested a man in connection to a weekend shooting in north Columbia.

Police say they arrested Branden Truss around 11:00am Tuesday in the 400 block of Rangeline Street.

Around 1:00 Sunday afternoon, officers were apparently flagged down by four females at Hitt Street and Broadway.All four victims left the downtown area and went to a residence in the 1400 block of Bodie Drive.

Several victims, including a three-month-old, were outside the residence talking in the driveway when Branden Truss along with two other male suspects started shooting at them. The victims ran inside the residence and were not injured. One of the female victims, age 19, was in a relationship with Truss.

Officers did not originally find the suspects or shell casings but did find bullet holes in the car.

Truss was arrested on suspicion of armed criminal action, domestic assault, endangering the welfare of children, assault, property damage, and unlawful use of weapons.

The other two male suspects have not been arrested.
