Lockdown lifted at three Columbia schools after a shooting near downtown

ABC 17 News has reporters at the scene of a gunshot victim Tuesday afternoon. ABC 17 News confirmed Hickman High School, Jefferson Middle School and Ridgeway Elementary were all put on lock down as a precaution before the alert was lifted around 1:40 p.m.

Medical units were first called around 1:05 p.m. to 104 Third Avenue in central Columbia, near Providence Road and the Business Loop.

Police managed to confirm somebody was shot after speaking to a witness who called 911 after talking to him. He also told ABC 17 News the man had blood on his shirt. At this point, it is unclear where it happened or if officers found any shell casings at the scene.
