Four people taken to hospital after a car crash at Providence and Business Loop

Columbia Police and the fire department responded to a car crash at Providence and Business Loop 70 in central Columbia around 1:40 Saturday afternoon.

Police said a car hit another car that was driving in a possible funeral procession.

One of the cars did catch on fire. Firefighters were able to extinguish it quickly.

Fire officials said three adults and one child were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities closed one lane on Business Loop and one lane on Providence while they worked to clear the scene. Both lanes reopened around 2:15 p.m.
