Troopers confirm identity of body found in Lake of the Ozarks

The Missouri State Highway Patrol has identified a body found at the Lake of the Ozarks as Alexander Keith.

The body was found in the lake’s main channel by a boater, who called law enforcement.

Keith was 19 and lived in Lake Ozark at the time of his death. He was reported missing July 1 after troopers started an investigation into an empty boat found near the 8.5-mile marker the day before.

It appears Keith died from drowning, but an official cause of death has not been determined, and it’s not yet clear how he ended up in the water.
