Macks Creek man arrested on suspicion of sexual abuse

Camden County deputies have arrested a man from Macks Creek in connection with a sexual abuse investigation.

Officials at the Department of Social Services Children’s Division contacted the sheriff’s office after learning about alleged sexual abuse over the course of several years. The allegations involved Robert Taylor, 39, who reportedly abused members of his own family. Some of the victims were as young as six years old when the abuse started.

Deputies found Taylor at a home in Eldon on July 2, where he was apparently staying for the holiday, and arrested him. Prosecutors have charged Taylor with 13 counts of statutory sodomy involving a person younger than 14 years old. He is at the Camden County jail with no bond.
