Weather a factor in Boone County crash; car hydroplanes on highway

Amid the heavy rains, weather was a factor in at least one crash in Boone County Sunday morning.

The single-car crash happened around 7:30 a.m. on Highway 63 southbound near Highway 124.

A trooper with the Missouri State Highway Patrol told our ABC 17 News crews on scene that the car had rear wheel drive and the back tires of the vehicle had no tread. That caused the car to hydroplane and spin into a ditch.

There were no reported injuries.
