More rain Sunday night

Showers and t-storms will increase after 9 PM Sunday night, moving in from the southwest, affecting areas mainly south of I-70 through early morning Monday. A Flash Flood Watch continues for areas along and south of I-70 until 7 AM Monday. This includes Columbia, Jefferson City and the Lake of the Ozarks.

Heavy rain Saturday into Sunday has left rivers running high and the ground saturated in many areas. Additional rain will aggravate the flooding situation and additional flooding is possible in the watch area. Storms are not expected to be severe but could produce heavy rainfall with pockets of 1 inch totals possible and up to 2 inches not completely ruled out along and south of I-44.

Rain is expected to move out by mid-morning Monday as drier weather moves in for the remainder of the holiday.
