Updated Severe Threat for Sunday

Unlike today, Sunday will not only have that chance for continuous rain, but will have severe weather to accompany it. There is a Marginal Risk for most of Mid-Missouri, excluding the top portions of Chariton, Macon, Monroe, Randolph, and Saline counties. This Marginal Risk holds the potential for damaging winds up to 58 MPH and hail up to an 1″ in diameter. The counties of Camden, Gasconade, Maries, Miller, Osage, Phelps, and Pulaski are under a slight risk for severe weather. This includes hail up to or greater than an 1″ in diameter and winds greater than 58 MPH in localized areas.

While Sunday morning and into the afternoon holds the chance for the continuous rain, it is Sunday late afternoon into evening when these severe storms could start popping up. Due to the lack of daytime heating, these storms may be limited to how strong they get and are expected to be solely wind events.
