Investigators working to determine cause of house fire on Danforth Drive

Boone County Assistant Fire Marshall Jim Pasley is working to determine the cause–and a dollar amount for the damage–after a house fire on Danforth Drive.

The Columbia Fire Department says they responded to reports of a residential structure fire Friday evening just before six.

When crews arrived, they found smoke coming from the rear of the home. They say the fire reached the attic through a soffit vent, but was quickly extinguished.

There are no reported injuries from the fire. The owners were not home at the time; there were two pets inside but they are unharmed.

Seven units from the Columbia Fire Department respond to the call.
