Mid-Missouri woman arrested for murder-for-hire plot

The Highway Patrol confirms a Sunrise Beach woman is now charged, accused of trying to murder a family member.

Jessica Swearingen, 25, was arrested during a traffic stop at 9:35 p.m. Thursday by the Camden County Sheriff’s department in Osage Beach. First-degree charges of conspiracy to commit murder were filed on Friday, with a cash-only bond of $250,000.

Investigators claim Swearingen contacted an undercover agent from the Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group (LANEG) to kill a relative from Lake Ozark. The state highway patrol and sheriff’s office were also involved in the case.
