City attorney leaving his position with Jefferson City

ABC 17 News confirmed City Attorney Drew Hilpert is leaving his job with the City of Jefferson in less than two months to start a new role in the southwest part of the state .

Hilpert told ABC 17 News he is moving to Springfield on August 2 to become the Senior Utility Counsel for city utilities.

Hilpert first started working for Jefferson City on August 13 , 2006, as associate city counselor.
