Cole County leaders vote ‘yes’ on crime insurance bid

Commissioners in Cole County voted unanimously Tuesday to renew crime insurance for the municipality’s finances.

The insurance will cover the county in case of internal felony embezzlement or stealing by county employees who handle the finances.

CommissionerKris Scheperlesaid the almost $25,000 a year is needed to ensure the safety of the county, a $72 million enterprise.
