Boone County presiding commissioner injured in car crash

Boone County presiding commissioner Dan Atwill suffered moderate injuries Saturday when another car pushed his car into a median on I-70.

According to the Highway Patrol crash report, Atwill was driving westbound on I-70 in the left lane when another car attempted to merge into the left lane.

It caused his car to hit the median barrier.

The crash report said he was wearing a seat belt. The report does not mention drugs or alcohol playing a factor in the crash.
