One arrested following drug search in Columbia
ABC 17 News has confirmed one person was arrested after a short chase and a search for drugs in a truck in Columbia.
Shortly after 2 p.m. Wednesday, police pulled the truck over on Allen Street following a short chase. The driver, Gary Dawson, was arrested without incident. Officers then called in a K9 unit to search the truck, finding a bag of marijuana inside.
Police arrested Dawson on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance, resisting arrest, and driving in a careless manner. His total bond was set at $1,145.
