Eastbound I-70 still moving slowly in west Columbia

Eastbound traffic on Interstate 70 in west Columbia continues to move slowly, and is down to one lane. The affected area is between the Sorrels overpass and the West Boulevard exit. There is a trooper from the Missouri State Highway Patrol in the area helping to direct traffic.

Earlier in the day, a large pothole opened up on the side of the interstate near the Rangeline exit. A spokeswoman with MoDOT says the pothole is fixed, but the concrete isn’t drying as quickly as expected. Workers hope to have traffic moving normally by the Thursday evening rush hour.
