A mid-Missouri sex offender is facing new charges, accused of beating up a 91 year-old WWII vet, before escaping in his car.
ABC 17 News confirmed through court documents filed on Monday that Driss Zarhouni was arrested in the stolen Volkswagen east of Columbia by the Cooper County’s sheriff’s department.
Police say he beat up the elderly man Sunday afternoon, kicking him in the face at his home off Hanover Boulevard, near Clark Lane. He suffered broken bones in his face and neck. He is also a World War II veteran.
Zarhouni is currently on probation. Now he is being held on $500,000, cash-only bond.
