Severe storm threat Wednesday afternoon

An area of low pressure and trailing cold front will give us the ingredients needed to strengthen storms again Wednesday afternoon. The day will start off with decreasing showers & thunder early in the morning from decaying overnight storms which will move east and out of the area by mid-morning.

Forecast models indicate scattered storms will develop in western Missouri from 10 AM to noon and spread east into Mid-Missouri by early afternoon. Conditions look favorable for these storms to strengthen and possibly produce damaging wind and large hail. Although the probability of a tornado it low, isolated tornadoes are possible Wednesday afternoon. The chance of damaging wind and large hail are higher.

Storms will move out by 9 PM leaving us with quiet weather Wednesday night through Friday before active weather moves in again this weekend.
