Next round of storms Tuesday Night

Another round of storms will move in Tuesday night ahead of a strong area of low pressure spinning up across Kansas. A line of storms is forecast to move into western Missouri near Kansas City near 10 PM and track to the east to HWY 65 by 11 PM. As this first line moves in, damaging wind gusts and hail will be the main threats with the best chance north of I-70 and west of HWY 63. There is a slight chance that a tornado could quickly spin up along this line but the chance is low.

A second line will follow and spread east through daybreak Wednesday and out of Mid-Missouri by 11 AM. In this line, a few storms with large hail or strong wind gusts to 60 mph are possible. Once this line clears, additional storms are possible Wednesday afternoon and evening as the low pressure center drifts across northern Missouri and east of the area by Thursday morning. Storms which develop late in the day Wednesday could be strong to severe with damaging wind and hail the main threats along with a low tornado risk, mainly north of I-70.
