Warming temperatures, weekend rain chance

It will feel like spring this weekend as temperatures climb and rain chances increase. The warming trend begins Friday as winds shift to the south, bringing daytime high temperatures up into the mid 50s. The normal high for this time of year is 50.

The warming will slow down Saturday as a weak cold front moves through, shifting winds to the north. High pressure building in behind the front will bring abundant sunshine will help boost temperatures into the upper 50s Saturday.

The upper level winds will come in from the southwest by Sunday, sending a series of upper level waves through the central U.S. which will bring rain chances to Mid-Missouri. The first of these waves arrives Sunday afternoon and will bring some showers mainly after 3 PM. These will be widely scattered and light with a tenth of an inch of rain expected. Although we will have more clouds Sunday, southerly winds will bring temperatures up into the lower 60s.
