Officials: decorative-style lights sparked apartment fire
ABC 17 News confirmed with officials Christmas-style lights on a fake plant might have started an apartment fire in Jefferson City. Damage is estimated at $25,000.
Four people, including two children safely escaped the complex Thursday evening off Weathered Rock Court, near Ellis Boulevard and Highway 54.
Smoke detectors helped alert the family, which is getting help from the Red Cross.
