Student brings BB gun to class in Columbia

ABC 17 News confirmed a student brought a BB gun to Lange Middle School in his backpack Tuesday morning.

Several other students told an adult after seeing the weapon, before administrators seized it and took “appropriate disciplinary action.”

Officials believe no one inside the building was in danger at any point.

The school’s principal said they are taking the report seriously, reminding everyone to check their children’s bags before they leave the house. He included their policies in an email notifying parents and guardians about Tuesday’s incident.
