Retired Mid-Missouri teacher charged with child sex crimes
A retired high school teacher was federally charged Friday with trying to have sex with a child.
According to an affidavit, Paul Cannon posted on Craigslist from Sedalia earlier this month seeking a couple that would “like to include their kids in sexual fun.”
A detective with the Boone County Sheriff Department Cyber Crimes Task Force responded to the ad posing as a woman with a 14-year-old daughter.
They then arranged to meet a Columbia restaurant Friday morning. When Cannon arrived he was directed to a different restaurant where he was arrested by the Boone County Sheriff Department.
