Columbia man arrested in connection with multipe thefts

A Columbia man is behind bars in the Boone County Jail after officers arrest him for several crimes Thursday morning.

Justin Plummer, 34, was arrested just after 6:30 a.m. in the QuikTrip parking lot in the 3200 block of Clark Lane.

Columiba Police told ABC 17 News that they found Plummer sleeping in the driver’s seat of a stolen vehicle.

The car had been reported missing just before 6:30 a.m. from the Ramada Inn in the 900 block of Conley Road.

The victim also reported that Plummer had stole items from a hotel room.

During a search of the vehicle, investigators said they discovered two bags of heroin and a third bag containing a crushed prescription pill.

Officers also said they discovered stolen property from several other cases.

The property included:

Electronics and tax documents from a Wednesday night home burglary in the 200 block of Orleans Court.
Accessories from a vehicle thefts in the 600 block of West Boulevard and the 1400 block of Forum Boulevard.
Mail packages from thefts in the 2700 block of Summit Road, the 600 block of Laurel Drive and the 3000 block of Woodkirk Drive.

Officers also recovered a cellphone that Plummer is accused of stealing Wednesday night from a taxicab driver. They said he did not pay a more than $200-plus fare and stole the driver’s phone.

Plummer is charged with two counts of first-degree burglary, first-degree tampering, felony possession of a controlled substance, felony stealing and five counts of misdemeanor stealing.

He was also the subject of a felony probation and parole warrant.
