Rain and Colder Temperatures Next Week

The majority of Monday looks dry with rain increasing by evening from the southwest near the western parts of the Ozarks by 7-9PM. Rain is likely to continue to lift overnight through Tuesday morning moving into Columbia and Jefferson City near the 12AM-2AM time frame. A couple of thunderstorms can’t be ruled out from Monday night through Tuesday. There will be some instability through 8AM Tuesday morning so any thunderstorms look likely to end by this time. We’ll likely have a lot of dry time on Tuesday afternoon. As the low pressure system responsible for rain and storms through Tuesday pulls to our northeast, colder air will filter in behind, bringing a quick shot at light snow Tuesday night through Wednesday morning. The track of this system will likely change. Be sure to check the latest forecast conditions on twitter @ABC17Stormtrack.
