81-year-old killed in crash on Hwy. HH

Authorities have now identified the man who died in a crash in Boone County Wednesday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 81-year-old Lawrence Reichert, of Centralia, diedin the crash on Highway HH and Brown Station Road Wednesday morning.

Reichert was apparently driving south on Brown Station Road and failed to stop at a stop sign. A vehicle traveling westbound on Highway HH then struck Reichert’s vehicle.

Reichert was transported to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Reichert was not wearing a seat belt.

Highway HH at Brown Station Road was temporarily blocked after the crash involving two vehicles. One of those vehicles was a Mediacom truck. Traffic heading westbound was significantly backed up.

Traffic was also backing up along Route B, due to a different crash. The southbound lanes of Route B were temporarily blocked Wednesday morning at Highway HH.

Boone County EMA says the crash near Route B was a non-injury crash.

Authorities said both crashes remain under investigation Wednesday afternoon.A state trooper tells ABC 17 News the collisions were unrelated.

Traffic was clear by about 11:00 a.m. Wednesday.
