Federal judge steps in on Columbia Planned Parenthood

A federal judge has temporarily blocked Missouri’s health department from revoking the abortion license held by the Planned Parenthood clinic in Columbia.

The temporary restraining order was issued is set to expire Wednesday night.

Planned Parenthood of Kansas and Mid-Missouri filed a federal lawsuit Monday to keep the Columbia clinic’s abortion facility license from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.

The Department had planned to revoke the license at midnight.

A rally was held on the MU campus Monday night, where supporters and protesters gathered.

There were about 15-20 supporters from Team Play, 40 Days for Life, and Mizzou Students For Life praying on campus.

About 200-300 pro-choice supporters showed up and were chanting, “MIZ-Shame on you.”

Some protesters were clashing Monday evening.
