Mexico police arrest man after drive-by shooting
A man was arrested Thursday morning after Mexico police responded to a drive-by shooting that injured one man.
Mexico police arrested DeMarko Walls, 24, of Mexico. Police tell us the shooting happened shortly before 2:00 a.m. in the 900 block of Carrico.
Officers say they found the victim, 32-year-old Shawn Jackson in the roadway. Jackson is now in stable condition at University Hospital.
Walls was arrested after officers found a gold colored Buick, which witnesses described as the car Walls was in.
Police located him in the 200 block of West Central Street shortly after the shooting.
Residents tell ABC 17 they heard only one gunshot.
Walls is facing charges of second degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon. Police say evidence found during the arrest is linked to some other disturbances and recent crimes, and additional charges may be pending.
