Columbia Public Schools winter weather policy

In anticipation of inclement weather, Mid-Missouri schools have policies for adjusting the school day accordingly.

“We look at a number of factors when determining whether or not we need to have school or if we need to have a delayed start. One of the things that we do when we look at whether or not we should have school is of course having our team of drivers go out and drive various roads throughout the school district,” said CPS spokeswoman Michelle Baumstark.

Columbia Public Schools have 6 snow days built into the calendar, but each day off must be made up at the end of the year.

All decisions on school starts or any cancellations are made before 6:00 that morning.
