Trial set for truck driver charged in deadly Boone Co. crash

A trial has been set for January for a truck driver charged in a deadly crash on I-70.

ABC 17 News has witness statements from July claiming Anthony West blew through the warning signs following an earlier crash.

His semi truck hit a pickup, killing 79-year-old Margarete Haile, who was stopped in traffic on the highway.

West claimed his brakes didn’t work, but they tested properly.
