I-70 Eastbound near Stadium exit shut down for multiple crashes

Emergency crews closed both lanes of I-70 near the Stadium Boulevard exit Sunday.

Boone County Joint Communications issued an alert shortly after 8:00 p.m. advising drivers to avoid the interstate near mile marker 125.

A total of five to six cars were involved in two separate crashes, according to the Columbia Fire Department. Crews took one woman to the hospital with minor injuries.

Westbound lanes are also congested due to construction in the area.

Officials reopened both lanes just before 9:00 p.m.
