Reports: Mizzou QB Maty Mauk reinstated after suspension

Maty Mauk will return to the Mizzou Football team, according to multiple media reports. Mauk had been suspended since September 29 for a violation of team rules.

A Mizzou spokesperson said the team could not confirm Mauk’s reinstatement. He did say, however, head coach Gary Pinkel would address Mauk’s status during his weekly SEC teleconference on Wednesday. The news was first reported by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and PowerMizzou.com.

The redshirt junior, who is 17-5 as a starter since 2013, had completed 51.4 percent of his passes his season. He threw for six touchdowns but also had five interceptions.

Freshman Drew Lock played in Mauk’s absence, getting his first collegiate win on October 3rd against South Carolina. However, the offense has struggled in its last three games with Lock, scoring only six points in that span.
