Cool, damp weather Tuesday

Tropical moisture from what was Hurricane Patricia has moved into the Gulf of Mexico and is heading north into the Mississippi Valley. This moisture will meet up with a trough of low pressure aloft, producing rain across Mid-Missouri Tuesday.

Rain will start off light and showery as it moves into areas south of I-70 through daybreak, spreading north through the morning and becoming more widespread. Occasional rain will continue through the afternoon and early evening before moving east overnight, ending early Wednesday.

Rainfall amounts of a quarter to half inch are likely but some areas could see up to three quarters of an inch of rainfall. Temperatures will stay in the 50s through the day with an easterly wind near 10 mph.
