Man charged with involuntary manslaughter in fatal Cole Co. crash

A Jefferson City man was charged Thursday with involuntary manslaughter and 3 counts of assault for a June 30 crash that killed one and injured 3.

Court documents said 19-year-old Gabriel Urbina was driving the car on Highway 179 near Route T in Cole County when he began to swerve and crossed the center line. Urbina eventually drove off the road and rolled the car.

Five people were in the car at the time.

Three passengers were thrown from the vehicle, including 21-year-old Jude Koenigsfeld, who was killed at the scene.

Only Urbina was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
