Two homes damaged by gunfire in Columbia

Columbia police are investigating two shootings Saturday.

Just after 1:30 a.m., 911 dispatchers received reports of shots heard in the 3500 block of Rock Quarry Road. Officers found a bullet hole in the front window of an apartment building, a cartridge and shell casing on scene.

Then around 12:20 p.m., dispatcher received reports of shots heard in the 3400 block of Rock Quarry Road. Officers found a bullet home in another home’s front window and shell casings on the ground nearby. Officers saw several people running from the area, getting into vehicles and running away.

No one was hurt, according to Columbia police. It is unknown at this time if the two incidents are related.
