One in custody following Boone County chase

One person is in custody following a high speed chase in Boone County Thursday afternoon.

Deputies tried to pull over 39-year-old Timothy Scott, who was driving a Jeep that had stolen license plates on I-70 eastbound around 3:00 p.m.

Deputies told ABC 17 News Scott was driving up to 100 miles per hour before the crash.

The Jeep crashed between the Lake of the Woods and Route Z exits just outside Columbia, near mile marker 133.

Boone County Sheriff’s Detective Tom O’Sullivan told ABC 17 News Scott took off on foot and led deputies on a short chase through a corn field.

Boone County brought in a K-9 unit to look for him.

After a brief manhunt, Scott was taken away in an ambulance for his injuries sustained from the crash.

Scott was arrested for 1st degree tampering, receiving stolen property, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of certain weapons, property damage, driving while revoked, and careless and imprudent driving resulting in an accident.

His bond is set at $29,000.
