Man sentenced to 12 years for trying to rob Jefferson City Subway

A Mid-Missouri man was sentenced to 12 years in prison after he tried to rob the Subway in downtown Jefferson City.

David Humes entered a blind guilty plea this week in court.

He was arrested in May along east High Street.

The cashier said Humes showed her a message on his phone saying, “don’t panic.”

She immediately called 911.

Humes is accused of locking the door, pointing a gun, and saying, “give me everything, now.”

Police were already at the back of the restaurant at that point.
